Your will first arrive in Japan at one of the following airports: Fukuoka Airport (FUK), New Tokyo International Airport (NRT), Kansai International Airport (KIX), Central Japan International Airport (NGO), or Kumamoto Airport.

* If you arrive at New Tokyo International Airport (NRT), Kansai International Airport (KIX), or Central Japan International Airport (NGO), you should apply for transportation to Fukuoka Airport or Kumamoto Airport.

* If you arrive at Fukuoka Airport, we recommend you to take a highway bus from Fukuoka Airport or the Hakata Bus Center to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal (called "Kumamoto Kotsu Center" in Japanese). This connection takes about two hours and costs approximately 2,000 yen. Before you leave Fukuoka, you should call your contact person at Kumamoto University and tell him/her your time of arrival at Kumamoto.

* If you arrive at Kumamoto Airport, you should take an airport limousine bus from Kumamoto Airport to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal. This connection takes about 40 minutes and costs 670 yen.
