Air Tickets

a. Exchange students and privately funded students

Please purchase the tickets for your flight on your own, and ensure that you will arrive in Japan by the designated date.

 

b. Japanese government scholarship students

(1) Booking … 
A: Embassy Recommendation
Japanese embassy or travel agency will book an air ticket for you.

B: University Recommendation
Kumamoto University will book an air ticket for you.
Complete the application form and send it immediately to the international Student Office of Kumamoto University by e-mail.

*Write your contact address in your home country using the Roman alphabet (kanji characters can be included).

(2) Receipt
For an e-ticket (electronic ticket), you will receive an electronic ticket receipt or an electronic ticket passenger itinerary receipt (name varies by airline) via e-mail.
The boarding ticket is issued at the airline check-in counter on the departure date.

Note:
* You cannot change your flight schedule or cash in the air ticket supplied to you. 
* Since the air ticket must be submitted to MEXT after it has been used, you must submit the boarding ticket stub to Kumamoto University upon arrival.
* Please note that you must pay the transportation fee from the Japanese international airport at which you first arrive to Kumamoto.
