1. What was your Kumamoto University experience like?
As a graduate student in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, “a day by day pressure was my business”, the research had to be continued 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It must be very hard period for anybody, but not for me. My fellows of the laboratory, Japanese students, did not treat me as foreign student, instead they treated me as "nakama". We always shared knowlwdge to each others, take a lunch together, at the week end we some time have a “compa”, talking about daily life, "sekken banashi", with a brotherhood basis. Even though the members of laboratory always change every year, but the brotherhood atmosphere never changed. The pressure of graduate study could be mitigated. I felt at my home country, and I felt that 7 years just at a second. That is Kumamoto University.
2. When you think about Kumamoto University, what are some of your most memorable experiences?
Kumamoto University Kurokami campus is a city campus situated in urban area. During my study I live in apartment near campus just 3 minutes by walk. I could have a chance to have interaction with ordinary peaple outside of the campus community. I have a badminton community in which its members consist of several back ground, so I could have a chance to know more deeply how the real Japanese society is. Having a chance to interact with Japanese peaple who have many difference back ground is my most memorable experiences.
