Please complete a "Pickup Service Application Form" from a link sent by International Student Office before your departure. Baggages

Generally, you are allowed to bring a maximum of 20 kg of baggage with you free of charge on the plane. If you exceed this limit, you will have to pay excess weight charges. You should bring only the most necessary items when you come to Japan. Once you settle in, you can buy most things you need in Japan, or you can have items sent to you from your home country. If you want to send unaccompanied baggage to Japan ahead of your arrival, please check with us first. Do not send it to the airport or university without consulting with us in advance.

Customs regulations

Your possessions, even those for personal use during your stay in Japan, will be inspected at customs and may be subject to customs duty. Please fully check the customs regulations before traveling to Japan.

In Japan, possession of any of the following is prohibited by law:
a. Stimulants, marijuana, and any other illegal drugs
b. Firearms and swords
c. Pornography (books/videotapes)
d. Articles that infringe upon such things as trademark rights and patent rights, e.g., counterfeit goods, etc.)
e. Wild animals and plants, or related goods that are regulated by the Washington Treaty.
(Do not violate this law, or you will be strictly punished and your scholarship will be revoked.)

If you bring animals and plants (including seeds and fruits) into Japan, you must go through quarantine. As there are many prohibited/restricted items, please carefully check the belongings you intend to bring into Japan; otherwise, your items may be confiscated.
