UTSA Visits Kumamoto University

Kumamoto University has ongoing agreement for academic collaboration with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Prof. Les E Shephard (Professor, Sustainable Energy Research Institute, UTSA) and Prof Taeg Nishimoto (Associate Dean, College of Architecture, UTSA) visited our university and had a meeting with President Taniguchi on February 7, 2011.
 
During the meeting, Prof Shephard explained about current research areas related to water, environment, energy etc where the two universities can collaborate. It was agreed to intensify joint research activities in the coming days.
 
The UTSA researchers visited the various academic and research facilities in the campus, such as the Memorial Museum of the Fifth High School, Solar Arch etc, and participated in the 14th Eco Energy Lecture Series organized by the Eco Energy Group of Kumamoto University. Also, Prof. Shephard delivered a lecture titled “Realizing a Global Energy Future – Turing Promise into Practice”.
