Dean of Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing, National Cheng Kung University Visits Kumamoto University
On November 8, 2023, Professor Yan-Kuin Su, Dean of the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU-AISSM) in Taiwan, and three other delegates from AISSM paid a courtesy visit to President Hisao Ogawa. Also present were Dr. Jun Otani, Executive Vice President, and Mr. Kenji Kakuta, Executive Director of the International Affairs Department.
Before visiting the President, the NCKU-AISSM delegation toured on-campus facilities, including the clean room that started operation this March as a semiconductor research facility. The delegation then had a meeting with Dr. Tsuyoshi Usagawa, Executive Vice President, and Dr. Sadahiro Tsurekawa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as faculty members from the Research and Education Institute for Semiconductors and Informatics (REISI), to exchange views on collaboration in education and research in the field of semiconductors, and agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in the future.
NCKU is one of the leading comprehensive universities in Taiwan and a major research university in the semiconductor field. Following the visit of Executive Vice President Otani to NCKU in July this year, the NCKU-AISSM delegation visited Kumamoto University this time. It is hoped that this opportunity will strengthen the cooperative relationship and promote further exchanges between NCKU and KU.
