Visit by President of Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology, China
Prof Gao Weiping, President of Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology, China, visited Kumamoto University on May 7, 2010 along with his colleagues, Prof Lu Da-Yong (Associate Dean, College of Science), Prof Zhao Hongmei (Deputy Director, International Exchange and Cooperation Department), and Prof Jin Hu, (Director, Environment and Biotechnology Research Center - formerly, student of Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University).
The visiting team had an official meeting with Prof Isao Taniguchi, President of Kumamoto University, on the current situation and future plans for the collaboration between the two universities. Prof Kenji Furukawa, Vice-President (International Affairs) was present during the meeting. Later, the guests were taken around the various research facilities of Kumamoto University.
Kumamoto University and Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology have already signed agreements in September 2008, for academic collaboration and student exchange. It is hoped that, through the present visit by the President and senior officials of Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology, the activities between the two universities will be further enhanced in the coming days.
