Welcome Party to New International Students of Kumamoto Area
A welcome party, with a barbeque lunch, was organized on May 16 (Sunday), 2010 by Kumamoto Foreign Student Exchange Promotion Regional Conference for welcoming and familiarizing with the newly arrived International Students in Kumamoto Area. There were more than 140 participants including about 120 International Students from Kumamoto University, Prefectural University of Kumamoto, Kumamoto Gakuen University, Tokai University (Kyushu Campus), Sojo University, Kyushu Luthern College, Kumamoto National College of Technology (Kumamoto Campus & Yatsushiro Campus), staff of these universities, and officials from Kumamoto International Foundation.
The party was held between 11am and 2pm at the playgrounds of Kyushu Luthern College. Prof Isao Taniguchi, President of Kumamoto University, inaugurated the event. He requested all the International Students to appreciate the natural beauty of the region and to make best use of their stay in Kumamoto. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the barbeque lunch, games and lively interactions with students from many countries. The program was concluded with closing remarks by Mr Hiromitsu Yagi, Deputy Secretary General of Kumamoto International Foundation.
