Implementation System of Liberal Arts Education

Kumamoto University abolished the Research Center for Higher Education and the Organization for General Education, which had formerly served as a high governance organization to supervise the quality control of education in university-wide common education, and established the Headquarters for Admissions and Education as a new governance organization in June 2016.

The Headquarters for Admissions and Education aims to supervise the quality control of education in university-wide common education and strategically build a university-wide common education system based on the educational data accumulated by us, dealing with a changing entrance examination system, and provides the foundation for future development of education at the university. We will reorganize the subject group, a faculty organization responsible for liberal arts education, to make it more active, and will establish a system involved in planning, operating, and implementing liberal arts education in cooperation with individual faculties, especially with the Headquarters for Admissions and Education.
We have established this new organization to build a university-wide common education system and supervise and manage educational programs. We will also continue to promote educational reforms to ensure the consistent quality of education throughout the whole study process at the university.
