Before Leaving Japan
Leaving Your Residence
Be sure to inform your landlord (or the administrative office of the dormitory) of your departure no later than one month prior to the day of moving-out. Otherwise, you may be charged for another month’s rent. Clean your room and return it to the condition it was when you moved in, and dispose of your garbage according to the designated rules. For bulky waste that you have to pay to dispose of and recyclable waste, you need to use the appropriate garbage collection service and pay a fee.Other Procedures
