Visit by Students from Chosun University, Korea (November 11, 2010)
Kumamoto University has ongoing agreement for academic collaboration with Chosun University, Korea since 2009. About 15 people from Chosun University, including 13 students and two staff, visited Kumamoto University on November 11, 2010. As part of this visit, an interaction meeting with students of Kumamoto University was arranged in the afternoon, and about 15 students of Kumamoto University, including 4 exchange students from Korea, participated in this program, apart from all the visitors from Chosun University. The program consisted of self-introduction by all the participants, and power point presentations introducing both the universities.
Later, the visiting team was taken on a campus tour by the students of Kumamoto University. At the Memorial Museum of the Fifth High School, the visitors were briefed about the historical background of this former High School, as the predecessor of Kumamoto University. After the campus tour, all gathered again at the meeting room for further informal discussions and exchange of information. All students thoroughly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and exchanged information on various issues – academic and cultural. Coffee and snacks were served and the meeting ended with expectations for further strengthening of academic exchanges between the two universities in the coming days.
