President Hisao Ogawa Gives a Special Guest Presentation at ICFAST 2026
President Hisao Ogawa of Kumamoto University was invited as a Special Guest Speaker at the International Conference on Frontier Areas of Science and Technology (ICFAST) 2026, held at the University of Tokyo on February 14, 2026. He gave a presentation titled “India as Our Strategic Knowledge Partner.” The conference formed part of the commemorative events marking the 40th anniversary of Japan–India Science and Technology Cooperation.
During his presentation, President Ogawa highlighted Kumamoto University’s strategic initiatives, outlining its integrated approach to education, research, and innovation. He introduced key efforts in industry–academia–government collaboration, global talent development, and the expansion of international partnerships.
Emphasizing the increasing importance of global collaboration in advancing semiconductor technologies, President Ogawa expressed strong expectations for deepening cooperation and building new partnerships with India.
Kumamoto University will continue to strengthen its international engagement and contribute to global innovation through interdisciplinary research, strategic partnerships, and the cultivation of globally minded talent.
