Kumamoto University Holds “Study in Japan” Fair at Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia

On November 20, 2025, Kumamoto University, serving as the coordinating institution, held the “Study in Japan” fair at Universitas Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia. The fair was organized as part of the “Global Network Project to Promote Study in Japan for ASEAN,” led by Okayama University. It featured introductions to Japanese universities, the distribution of informational materials, and one-on-one consultations to encourage students to study in Japan.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Director Yasushi Saito of the Headquarters for Admissions and Education at Kumamoto University and Vice Rector Andi Kurniawan of Universitas Brawijaya delivered opening remarks. Commemorative gifts were exchanged, and Kumamoto University and Okayama University introduced their universities. Four of the six national universities—Kanazawa University, Niigata University, Chiba University, and Nagasaki University—participated by providing informational materials. After the opening ceremony, booths were set up to distribute brochures and provide study abroad consultations. Approximately 280 students from Universitas Brawijaya and nearby high schools and other universities attended the event, demonstrating strong interest in studying in Japan.

Many students also visited Kumamoto University’s consultation booth. The event provided an excellent opportunity to share information about Kumamoto University—including its curriculum, research environment, and study abroad programs—with prospective students in Indonesia.
