The School of Informatics conducted a short-term study abroad program at National Taiwan Normal University as an exchange initiative in the AI and semiconductor fields.

From August 9 to 25, 2025, the School of Informatics at Kumamoto University carried out a short-term study abroad program at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) in Taipei, Taiwan. The program brought together 19 students from Kumamoto University, 10 students from Prefectural University of Kumamoto, and 20 students from NTNU.

The program included a wide range of activities: Chinese language introductory classes, cultural experiences, lectures on AI and semiconductor-related fields, and even a visit to the headquarters of TSMC, one of the world’s leading semiconductor companies.

On the final day, students gave group presentations in English, showcasing what they had learned throughout the program.

Participants shared positive feedback, noting that they actively practiced communication in English with NTNU students, which improved their language skills, and that they also gained valuable specialized knowledge in AI and semiconductors.

The School of Informatics will continue to provide opportunities for students to enhance their academic expertise, language ability, and intercultural communication skills through study abroad programs in AI, semiconductors, and other cutting-edge fields.
