Visit by Faculty Members from National Taiwan University and National Sun Yat-sen University

On August 1st, Professor Chyi-Lu Jang from the Department of Political Economy at National Sun Yat-sen University and Professor Kuo-Chun Yeh from the Graduate Institute of National Development at National Taiwan University visited Kumamoto University. Representing Kumamoto University were Professor Kenichi Togawa from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as Associate Professor Douyan Wang from the Institute of Industrial Nanomaterials.
 
The visit began with a meeting, and Professor Jang expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support and collaborative efforts between Kumamoto University and the institutions involved in the KOOU and UAAT partnership. Both sides engaged in a productive discussion on various topics, including industrial development policies, advance technological trends such as semiconductors, and their societal impacts, particularly in the areas of the environment and sustainability. The discussions underscored the mutual interest in deepening communication and exploring potential future collaborations.
 
Following the meeting, the visiting delegation toured the Memorial Museum of the Fifth High School to gain insight into Kumamoto University’s rich history. They also visited the newly established UAAT–KOOU Mandarin Education Center, which officially opened on July 15, 2025.
