Courtesy Visit by the Consul General of India, Fukuoka

On June 23, 2025, Mr. Ramkumar C, the Consul General of India in Fukuoka, paid a courtesy visit to President Hisao Ogawa of Kumamoto University. Executive Vice President Jun Otani also joined the meeting to extend a warm welcome to the delegation.
 
During the visit, Consul General Ramkumar expressed his delight in visiting Kumamoto University for the first time since assuming his post in April. He emphasized that Kumamoto is a crucial city for India across various sectors, including economy, culture, and increasingly, academia. He also expressed a strong desire to enhance collaboration through joint research programs and student exchange initiatives.
 
In response, President Ogawa highlighted the significant contributions of Indian alumni and faculty members to Kumamoto University, praising their role in strengthening the institution. He also extended a warm invitation for more Indian students to pursue their studies at Kumamoto University and suggested that future collaborations could extend to encompass a wider range of academic fields.
 
This visit marks an important step in furthering the relationship between Kumamoto University and India, with promising prospects for future academic collaborations.
