The 1st Kumamoto University MESE Seminar on "Biosensing Utilizing Semiconductors" Was Held
On March 4, 2025, the 1st Kumamoto University MESE* Seminar on "Biosensing Utilizing Semiconductors" was held at Kusunoki Terrace, located within Kumamoto University Hospital.
The seminar featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. Toshiyasu Sakata, Associate Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, and Dr. Toshihiro Kasama, Professor, Research and Education Institute for Semiconductors and Informatics (REISI), Kumamoto University. The discussion focused on the integration of medical research and semiconductor research.
Dr. Sakata delivered a lecture on "Transistor-based Biosensor Technology," while Dr. Kasama presented on "Development of a Ubiquitous Edge-Processing Liquid Biopsy System."
To conclude the seminar, Executive Vice President Kazuhito Tomizawa, Kumamoto University, delivered the closing remarks, marking the successful completion of the event.
