President of Montana State University Meets President Taniguchi
On July 20, 2012, Kumamoto University had the honor of receiving a party of three members led by Dr. Waded Cruzado, President of Montana State University (USA), one of Kumamoto University’s partner universities.
Since the signing of an exchange agreement in 1987, Montana State University and Kumamoto University have enjoyed more than 20 years of exchange activities, particularly student exchanges.
After President Taniguchi and President Cruzado discussed several issues, including the possibility of new academic exchanges in life science and other fields, the visit concluded in a cordial atmosphere.
Before the discussion with President Taniguchi, the three guests toured the X-Earth Center of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kumamoto University. They eagerly listened to the explanation given by Prof. Otani, head of the X-Earth Center, and showed strong interest in research activities currently under way in various cutting-edge fields.
