Kumamoto University was one of the three universities to participate in the “Online Study-Abroad Fair with China” to acquaint Chinese high school students interested in studying in Japan with life and research as a member of the “Consortium Kumamoto(*1).”
The event was hosted by “Gakushin Corporation(*2)” which was established by a Kumamoto University alumnus.
Prof. Mitsuyo Kishida, Deputy Vice-President for International Affairs, showcased the features of Kumamoto University and provided information about our entrance examination.
Host and participating schools joined this event by Zoom and Chinese teachers and students joined by bilibili, which is a video sharing site.
bilibili displayed comments from participants on the screen, some of them favorable responses such as “Hearing this has made me want to visit Kumamoto/Kumamoto University” and “I now have a deeper understanding of the universities.”
Kumamoto University will make it possible for Chinese high school students to access Japanese universities by utilizing online systems during the pandemic.
This event shows promise for Chinese high school students who are thinking about applying to study in Kumamoto and at Kumamoto University.
