Kumamoto University Registers in Kumamoto Prefecture’s SDGs Partnership System
Kumamoto University is one of the first members of Kumamoto Prefecture’s SDGs Partnership System on August 25, 2021.
Companies and organizations in Kumamoto Prefecture who join the SDGs Partnership System make a significant promise and contribution toward achieving the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by recognizing the connection between their own activities and sustainability, and by working on SDGs more vigorously under Kumamoto Prefecture’s SDGs Partnership System.
By joining the partnership system, Kumamoto University has pledged to achieve the following three SDGs-related policies and visions by 2030.
Further enrich education, both on- and off- campus, and provide quality education to cultivate skilled personnel capable of handling current and future challenges.
Stimulate industry by establishing mutually beneficial collaborative relationships with local governments and industry, and by promoting education and research that focuses on the needs of the community.
Enhance advanced research as an education and research hub.
It is our honor to become one of the first Kumamoto Prefecture SDGs Partners.
We vow to work towards a more sustainable society under the “Kumamoto University SDGs Pledge”.
