Consul General of France in Kyoto Pays a Courtesy Call to President Harada Shinji
Mr. Jules Irrmann, Consul General at the Consulate General of France in Kyoto, paid a courtesy call to President Harada Shinji and Vice-President Otani Jun (International Affairs) on September 24th, 2020.
During the talk with President Harada, the history of exchange in recent years between Kumamoto University and French partner universities was discussed, the importance of researcher and student exchanges was confirmed, the university’s response to the coronavirus pandemic was explained, and future exchanges were proposed.
On the same day, the Consul General and members of our faculty attended information exchange meetings at the Center for International Education on the Kurokami North Campus.
The affairs of the Consulate General of France in Kyoto and Campus France were explained, along with discussions covering the French language education environment and studying in France.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the wearing of masks and social distancing were practiced.
This courtesy call was a good opportunity for the Consulate General of France to gain a deeper understanding of our university, and for our students to obtain more information about studying in France.
