KUMADAI Global Youth Campus Project “Go Global Seminar”
The KUMADAI Global Youth Campus Project “Go Global Seminar” was held on December 6, 2019 at the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies of Kumamoto University under the theme “To be Active in a Globalizing Society.” This project aims to provide students from local junior high schools, high schools, and technical colleges with an early global education.
Some 70 participants in the event, including students from high schools and universities, as well as people involved in education in Kumamoto Prefecture, listened to lectures given by Professor Marcelo J. Kuroda (UC Davis in the USA), Vice-President Miyoko Watanabe (Japan Science and Technology Agency) and Senior Fellow Takanori Sonoda (The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation), external board members of Kumamoto University’s globalization project.
The three speakers lectured in English on the skills and mindset needed by those who wish to play an active role in our globalizing society.
After the seminar, many high school students attended a brief session explaining the Global Leader Course, which was launched in FY 2017.
