Opening Ceremony of Kumamoto University Liaison Office at STUST Takes Place in Tainan, Taiwan
On March 8th 2019, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) and Kumamoto University (KU) hosted the Opening Ceremony of Kumamoto University Liaison Office at STUST takes place in Tainan, Taiwan. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Lu Deng-Maw, President of STUST and Dr. Shinji Harada, President of KU and approximately 40 participants from both universities, all of whom celebrated the opening of the new office. Also, local reporters attended this ceremony and it was widely reported by the local media after the ceremony.
KU has established seven offices(including SixERS※ office) in China, Korea, Indonesia and so on before. This office, which is established in STUST, is the eighth office.
This office will be utilized for strengthening networks of relevant universities, promoting academic and student exchanges and networking KU alumni in Taiwan.
Through these kinds of activities in this office, it is hoped to not only strengthening networks between STUST and KU but also promote education and research activities between Taiwan and Kumamoto.
※SixERS is a consortium of six national universities, including Chiba University, Niigata University, Kanazawa University, Okayama University, Nagasaki University and Kumamoto University.
