Graduate School of Science and Technology’s Associate Professor Takafuji Visits Department-Level Exchange Partner, AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland
Associate Professor Makoto Takafuji, of the Graduate School of Science and Technology, visited the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics at AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland on March 12, 2014. Kumamoto University has a department-level exchange agreement with AGH University, the largest technical university in Poland.
The two universities concluded their agreements for department-level exchange and a double degree program for doctoral courses in December 2010. Since then, they have engaged in a variety of exchanges, including a joint seminar from September 18 to 22, 2013, with the support of the Bilateral Program of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
Associate Professor Takafuji met Professor Jerzy Lis, the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics at AGH University of Science and Technology, to discuss the establishment of a cooperative relationship in the field of materials science. They also touched upon the possibility of expanding the exchange agreement from the departmental level to the university level. The two sides had fruitful discussions.
