The Executive Director of Mansfield Center (University of Montana) visits Kumamoto University
On May 29th, 2017, Dr. Abraham Kim, the Executive Director of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center, and Dr. Michihiro Ama, Karashima Tsukasa Associate Professor of Japanese Language and Culture of University of Montana, paid a courtesy call on Kumamoto University President Shinji Harada and Prof. Kazuki Takashima, Vice President of Kumamoto University in charge of International Affairs.
Since the establishment of a university-level exchange agreement 30 years ago in 1987, we have maintained a close relationship through exchanging students and researchers.
In a round-table discussion, President Harada and Dr. Kim shared their views on the possibility of future academic and student exchange, and the courtesy call ended on a positive note.
After the meeting, further discussion on the details of the student exchange program was conducted at the planning level.
In the wake of this visit, further exchanges between the two universities will be expected.
