On Sunday October 18, a welcome party for international students in Kumamoto Prefecture was hosted at Kumamoto University's 100th Anniversary Hall. The party was sponsored by The Kumamoto Foreign Student Exchange Promotion Regional Conference, which strives to welcome and familiarize newly arrived international students with Kumamoto.
More than 350 international and Japanese university students attended the party. Four international students gave words of greeting as representatives of their universities, and performances were held by Kumamoto University's Brass Band and Sojo University's Djembe Club.
The party served as an opportunity for international students to meet and interact with Japanese university students, and also strengthen the bond between the institutions of higher education in Kumamoto.
