2026 First "Global Kitchen" Brings Authentic Taste of South Korea to Campus!

The first Global Kitchen event of the 2026 academic year was recently held on July 10 at the Center for International Education lounge, bringing a vibrant taste of South Korea to campus.

The chefs for the day were international students Yoo Jeonggeum and Shin Jeonghwan, who served up a mouthwatering menu of Kimchi Fried Rice and Haemul Pajeon (Korean savory pancakes). Using authentic kimchi and key ingredients straight from South Korea, they treated everyone to the genuine, traditional flavors of home!

A total of 26 participants gathered for the event. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming right from the start—with some dedicated students even traveling all the way from Honjo Campus, just to join in on the fun.

The kitchen area became a hub of lively interaction. Japanese students crowded close to watch the chefs in action, chatting animatedly and enjoying a wonderful cultural exchange over sizzling pans and delicious food.

Participants showered the event with glowing feedback:
  • "It was my first time trying pajeon, and I was blown away by how delicious it was!"
  • "It tasted amazing, and getting completely full for just 500 yen was absolute perfection!"
  • "The food was incredible, and the international students cooking for us were so kind, bright, and welcoming. Such a wonderful event!"

Fueled by authentic flavors and warm conversations, the first Global Kitchen of the year was an absolute success. Stay tuned for the next delicious gathering —an Indonesian food event planned for later this month! Detailed information will be shared via SOSEKI and Instagram!
