Participation of Kumamoto University in the International Presidential Forum 2010, Organized by KAIST, Korea (October 11, 2010)
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), which has ongoing agreement for academic collaboration with our University, organized the “International Presidential Forum 2010” at Seoul, Korea on October 11, 2010.
In this Forum, Presidents and Vice presidents of 24 universities from 15 different countries participated and contributed to the event, in form of lectures and dynamic deliberations. President Taniguchi represented Kumamoto University at the Forum and delivered an invited lecture titled “Role and Strategies of Kumamoto University (KU) as a Research University in S&T Dominated Era in the field of Green Science and Technology”.
KAIST and our University signed the agreement for academic exchanges in 2001 at the faculty level, which was later upgraded to university level in 2006. Since then there have been several highly successful programs in the form of student & faculty exchange, and joint research projects. During the present Forum, President Taniguchi and President Nam Pyo Suh of KAIST reconfirmed the desire for further strengthening the linkages between the two universities in the coming days.
