Event Overview
Artificial insemination by donor (AID) has long been a foundational component of reproductive medicine worldwide. However, societal norms and legal frameworks are experiencing a major paradigm shift. Driven by a growing recognition of an individual’s fundamental right to know their genetic origins, alongside the widespread availability of direct-to-consumer DNA testing, many nations are moving away from traditional practices of anonymity and non-disclosure.
Hosted by Kumamoto University, this international symposium brings together leading experts, legal scholars, counselors, and advocates from Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan to examine the global transition toward identifiable sperm donation.
