Kumamoto University Hosts "2026 TSMC Semiconductor Day" to Support Career Development
On June 11, the "2026 TSMC Semiconductor Day" was held at Kumamoto University in collaboration with TSMC, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer. Bringing together students, faculty members, and industry representatives, the event provided a valuable forum for industry updates, knowledge sharing, and professional networking. 83 participants, including international students, attended the event, highlighting growing enthusiasm among students for the semiconductor sector and international career opportunities.The event featured comprehensive presentations on TSMC’s global business operations and career aspirations within the company. Representatives provided advice on career planning and the critical skill sets required to excel in this highly competitive field. For the attending students it was a valuable learning experience that offered a view into current industry trends and essential insights for shaping future professional journeys.
A highlight of the event was the interactive networking session. Students had the unique opportunity to connect directly with alumni of Kumamoto University who are working as engineers at Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc. (JASM).
