Professor from Université Grenoble Alpes Visits Kumamoto University
On May 27, 2026, Professor Julien Pernot from Université Grenoble Alpes, France, visited Kumamoto University.
During the courtesy visit, Professor Pernot met with Executive Vice President Jun Otani, Professor Mio Nonaka of the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, and Specially Appointed Professor Mitsuyo Kishida of the Research and Education Institute for Semiconductors and Informatics. During the meeting, Professor Pernot introduced a newly launched program at Université Grenoble Alpes. In a friendly and productive atmosphere, the participants also shared their intention to further strengthen student exchange opportunities in addition to advancing the program’s development.
Kumamoto University expressed its expectations for the Double Degree Program (DDP) between the two universities and exchanged views on future development of DDPs. The possibility of concluding an inter-university agreement was also discussed.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for active discussion between the two universities and highlighted new possibilities for strengthening future collaboration.
