AY 2026 Spring Semester Opening Ceremony Held for Intensive Japanese Course and Short-Term Exchange Program

On April 9, 2026, Kumamoto University held the opening ceremony for the Intensive Japanese Course and the Short-Term Exchange Program at the lounge of the Center for International Education.

This semester, the University welcomed 24 international students from six countries and regions: China, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Kyrgyzstan. At the ceremony, Vice President Yasue Takagi delivered welcoming remarks to the new students. She encouraged them to stay healthy, engage actively in their studies, and broaden their experience at Kumamoto University through friendships and interactions with others.

During the faculty introduction, the faculty members who support the international students’ studies were introduced one by one, reassuring the students that they have a supportive environment where they can seek advice.

As the international students begin their new lives in Japan, Kumamoto University hopes that this opening ceremony has further inspired their enthusiasm for learning at the University.
