Participating in the Online Study Abroad Fair, “Kazakhstan-Kyrgyz Study in Japan Fair-2021” Hosted by JICA’s Kazakhstan-Japan Center and Kyrgyz Republic-Japan Center

Kumamoto University participated in the Online Study Abroad Fair, hosted by the Kazakhstan-Japan Center and Kyrgyz Republic-Japan Center, for which the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provides technical cooperation. The online event took place from November 13th to 19th, 2021.

On November 13th, we broadcast a promotional video during the general session for introducing each participating university. Three days later on November 16th, we introduced the university via Zoom in an individual session. During that session, Prof. KISHIDA Mitsuyo, Deputy Vice-President for International Affairs, showcased the features of Kumamoto Prefecture and Kumamoto University, our cutting-edge research, and information about the entrance examination. Following this introduction, we held a Q&A session with participants via chat, and they enthusiastically asked questions about campus life, support for everyday living, and so on. The session also included a video message from a Kyrgyz alumnus who talked about the charms of our university and memories of his time on campus.

More than 50 students from Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic interested in studying in Japan joined our university session, and successfully illustrated the university’s appeal to them.

Kumamoto University will continue to proactively offer information like this through online tools.
