Courtesy Visit to Kumamoto University by Dr. Young-Chun Kim, Auditor of KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology)

On December 27th, Dr. Young-Chun Kim, Auditor of KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), paid a courtesy visit to our university. KAIST is one of Kumamoto University’s partner institutions situated in South Korea, with which we entered into a university-level exchange agreement in 2001. Since then, our institutions have worked together on research projects and have held a number of joint seminars to showcase the achievements of our young researchers.

Dr. Kim first met with President Taniguchi of Kumamoto University. The two exchanged views on topics such as university development strategies, and agreed to further develop future relations between our institutions. Thereafter, Dr. Kim met Dr. Yamamoto and Mr. Tateishi (CPA), Auditors of Kumamoto University, and shared opinions on auditing work at our university. This proved to be a very fruitful discussion.

Before the courtesy visit, Dr. Kim visited our Shock Wave and Condensed Matter Research Center, where Professor Hokamoto gave him a tour of the experimental facilities. Dr. Kim took particular interest in the possibility of future international exchange between businesses, universities and research institutes, and governments in that field.
