Academic Seminar held at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia
On November 20th, 2019, Kumamoto University held an academic seminar at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), one of our partner universities located in Indonesia. The academic seminar was held for students who were interested in studying in Japan.
The seminar was organized as part of the activities of SixERS, the Consortium of Six National Universities in Japan (Chiba University, Niigata University, Kanazawa University, Okayama University, Nagasaki University, and Kumamoto University). During the seminar, held by Kanazawa University, Okayama University, Nagasaki University and Kumamoto University, the universities introduced their distinctive research activities and valuable experiences in Japan. More than 200 Indonesian students attended the seminar and listened avidly.
After the seminar, individual consultations were provided at a separate venue. Many students visited booths, and the faculty members of each university responded to the students' enthusiastic questions as well as they could in the time allowed.
We were able to present a picture of an attractive study environment and life in Japan to the participants. It was a valuable opportunity, and we can expect to welcome more Indonesian exchange students at Kumamoto University in the future.
