The University of Malta (Republic of Malta) concludes faculty-level exchange agreements with Kumamoto University

On October 23rd, 2019, the Faculty of Life Sciences, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, and School of Medicine, Kumamoto University concluded an academic and student exchange agreement with The Center for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking, University of Malta.
The University of Malta, which was established in 1976, is well regarded as the Republic of Malta’s one national university, and is known as a center of medicine, medical education, research and economy in the Mediterranean.
 
Dean, Prof. Richard Muscat and Lecturer, Dr. Byron Baron of the University of Malta participated in the signing ceremony at Honjo Campus. As witnessed by staff members of both universities, Prof. Kazuhito Tomizawa, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, signed the academic and student exchange agreement.
 
An introduction to the School of Medicine, Kumamoto University was provided by Dean Tomizawa. In the following round-table discussion, representatives of the two universities shared their views on the possibility of future student exchanges as well as a double degree program agreement.
 
The delegates also paid a courtesy visit to President Shinji Harada at Kurokami Campus, which concluded on a positive note.
 
We hope that our agreement will encourage exchanges throughout the university and grow to encompass interactions in new areas.
