Qualifications1) Applicants must not be Japanese citizens.
2) The completion of 12 years of education (or its academic equivalent) in a country other than Japan, or special permission from the Minister of Education (MEXT).
3) Applicants are required to take the examination for Japanese University Admission for international students.

June or NovemberTake the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)
Late NovemberGet the registration materials and application form from the Admission Section, Kumamoto University
Late January to early FebruarySubmit the application forms to the Admission Section, Kumamoto University
Middle of FebruaryAn admission ticket for the exam will be sent to those who have been judged qualified to enter.
The exam must be taken on the appointed day at the time and place specified on the admission ticket.
Late FebruaryTake the entrance examination
The applicants will be selected on the basis of results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students and Kumamoto University's entrance examination, as well as an evaluation of each applicant's application documents.
Early MarchReceive the results of the entrance examination
Successful applicants will be notified by mail, and their examinee numbers will be posted on campus
