The Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Malta to Japan paid a courtesy call on President HARADA Shinji and the Faculty of Life Sciences.


On February 12th, 2021, His Excellency Mr. Andre Spiteri, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Malta to Japan, paid a courtesy call on President HARADA Shinji and the Faculty of Life Sciences.
 
The Ambassador started with a visit to the Faculty of Life Sciences in the Honjo Campus. Professor YAMAGATA Kazuya introduced Kumamoto University and the Faculty during a short video and presentation, and then an information exchange meeting with Associate Professor ARAKI Norie and the Ambassador was held.
 
Following the meeting, the Ambassador visited the Kurokami Campus.
He also paid a courtesy visit to President HARADA. They discussed the history of the exchange in recent years and possible exchanges on a Double Doctoral Degree Program between the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University and the Centre for Molecular Medicine & Biobanking, the University of Malta, which is a partner university.
The importance of exchanges between researchers and students was confirmed, the University’s response to the coronavirus pandemic was explained, and future exchanges were discussed.
 
This courtesy call was a good opportunity for the Ambassador to deepen his understanding of Kumamoto University and for our university to learn about studying in Malta.
