Study in Japan Fair 2018 in Taiwan

Kumamoto University participated in the Study in Japan Fair 2018 in Taiwan. The events were organized by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and held in Kaohsiung City on July 21 (Sat) and Taipei City on July 22 (Sun), 2018.

This fair had two main features: (1) an overall seminar, including explanations of Japanese government scholarships and testimonials from students who have studied in Japan, and (2) individual consultations provided by each participating institution. As many as 1,250 students who hope to study in Japan (1,235 last year) visited Kaohsiung City Venue, while 3,210 students (2,953 last year) visited Taipei City Venue.

Approximately 100 institutions participated in the fair, and upward of 100 students visited our booth over the two days. We explained about Kumamoto, the advantages of our university and the procedures needed to come and study in our university in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
There were many students who had a good impression on Japan and they also knew about Kumamoto. Many students who are studying Japanese in Taiwan visited our booth, so the explanations were able to be handled mainly in Japanese.
We received many questions about our curriculum, entrance examination system and scholarships, and the students showed their positive intentions to study in Japan.

This fair was a great opportunity to introduce our university to Taiwanese students who are interested in studying in Japan.
