First semester tuition exemption for students affected by the disaster

First semester tuition exemption for students affected by the disaster

A tuition exemption will be implemented for students living within the Disaster Relief Act area who cannot attend school as a result of their home financial situation being dramatically affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.

As stated below in “Students eligible for exemption”, those who wish to apply are asked to follow the link at the bottom of the page and submit a temporary application.  Students who submit a temporary application will not have tuition expenses automatically withdrawn from their bank accounts on May 27.  Applications, including the necessary documents, will be accepted after classes resume, during the period noted below.

(Students eligible for exemption)
- Those whose tuition is being paid for by persons living within the Disaster Relief Act area, and who have received a Disaster Victim Certificate from their local municipality or fire chief stating that their residence is completely destroyed, half destroyed, partially destroyed, or taken some damage.
- Those whose tuition is being paid for by persons who have died or are missing as a result of the earthquake.
※“Persons who are paying tuition” are considered to be the guardian or guarantor of the student.
※Graduate students living independently will be eligible only if they are the home owners.
※International students are also eligible to apply if they meet the above conditions.
For questions, please contact 096-342-2126.
