Notes:

・The column for the number of applicants for entrance indicates the number of applicants who have submitted application forms according to the application guidelines.

・The column for the number of new students indicates the number of students who are enrolled in the university as of May 1, 2017, out of the students who entered the university in AY 2017 (including those admitted to the university to fill up vacancies, but excluding transfer students; including those admitted to the 2-year Short Course in the Professional Degree Course of the School of Law). Accordingly, those who withdrew or were expelled from the university before May 1 after completing admission procedures are not included.

・Those who have graduated from our university refer to students who have completed the Master’s Course or the Doctoral Course (integrated) of Kumamoto University. For the Professional Degree Course and the Doctoral Course, they refer to students who have graduated from the undergraduate program of the university and students who have completed the Master’s Course of the university, respectively.

・The column for those who have graduated from a foreign school indicates the number of students who have completed 16 years of school education (or 18 years of school education for those who enter the Doctoral Course in medical, dental, or pharmaceutical sciences 〈of a graduate school founded on a six-year undergraduate program〉, or veterinary science) in a foreign country, as prescribed in Article 155, paragraph 1, item (ii) of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the School Education Act.

・The column for others indicates the number of students stipulated in Article 155, paragraph 1, items (i), (iii), (iv), (v), (vi), (vii) and (viii) of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the School Education Act

・If students have been admitted to the major of their second choice because of the results of the entrance examination, they are included in the number of applicants for entrance and new students to the major of their second choice.
