Scholarships provided by private foundations

There are various scholarships available for international students. Please note that application periods and requirements may change, so be sure to check the details on the bulletin boards or in the application guidelines. Additionally, there are also scholarships advertised by each department so please inquire with each office for the details.

The following scholarships are available to international students who apply directly to the scholarship foundations. Please be sure to check each foundation's website for more detailed information.
 

College Women's Association of Japan (CWAJ) Scholarship

・Application Period: July to early October
・Qualification: Female graduate students
・Stipend: ￥2,000,000 / year
 

Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Scholarship

・Application Period: September to late October (for applicants in Japan)
・Qualification: Privately funded students from Taiwan who will be pursuing full-time graduate studies in the next academic year
・Stipend: ¥144,000-¥145,000 / month
 

Honjo International Scholarship Foundation

・Application Period: September to October
・Qualification: Privately funded students in Master's and doctoral course
・Stipend: The scholarship period is the shortest period of time between the following amounts and the final goal of the degree.
1. ¥230,000 / month for 1-2 years
2. ¥210,000 / month for 3 years
3. ¥180,000 / month for 4 to 5 years
