Kumamoto University Holds FY2025 Graduation and Completion Ceremony
On March 25, 2026, Kumamoto University held its FY2025 Graduation and Completion Ceremony at the Kumamoto Prefectural Theater. This year, a total of 2,458 students embarked on a new chapter in their lives, including 1,708 undergraduate students, 672 graduate students, 32 students from the Graduate School of Education (Professional Graduate School), and 46 students from Diploma Course and Special Course.
The ceremony was also livestreamed online. In addition, Kumamoto University Student Support Circle provided real-time captioning, with summarized text displayed on a screen on stage to ensure greater accessibility during the event.
Following an address by President Hisao Ogawa, Ayano Imamura of the Faculty of Engineering delivered a farewell message on behalf of the current students, saying, “We hereby pledge to honor the legacy of our graduates and their commitment to excellence, carrying their spirit forward into the future generations.” On behalf of the graduating students, Minori Inoue of the Faculty of Law delivered the valedictory address, stating, “In a modern society, where many challenges lie ahead, we may face moments of uncertainty or hardship. Even so, we are determined to persevere through adversity and continue striving every day, cherishing the values instilled in us at Kumamoto University.”
After the ceremony, the Kumamoto University Philharmonic Orchestra performed two pieces, Pomp and Circumstance and Radetzky March, adding a festive atmosphere to the ceremony.
