Kumamoto-Mansfield Lecture Series

Kumamoto University is holding the lecture series cooperated with the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation (the Mansfield Foundation).

The Mansfield Foundation was created in 1983 to promote understanding and cooperation among nations and peoples of Asia and the United States. The Mansfield Foundation sponsors exchanges, dialogues, and publications that create networks among U.S. and Asian leaders, explore the underlying issues influencing public policies, and increase awareness about the nations and peoples of Asia. The Mansfield Fellowship Program, one of program of the Mansfield Foundation, is a professional development and international exchange program for federal employees. The program gives Fellows unparalleled access to the Japanese government, and allows them to experience the culture and language in order to become true experts on the country. Through intensive language studies and professional placements within Japanese government ministries, participants in the program gain an insider's view of Japan.

The Kumamoto-Mansfield Lecture Series provides an opportunity to learn about the U.S. and the world today, as presented by Fellows currently participating in the Fellowship Program, as well as other business experts.
