The University Archives was established on April 1, 2016. Our aim is to collect, preserve and provide research materials related to: the history of Kumamoto University; local Kumamoto history and culture; and social issues that occurred in the Kumamoto area, such as Minamata disease, the Menda incident and leprosy (Hansen’s disease). The contents of these collections are available on our website for researchers both inside and outside the University and for the general public.
