About Internships
There are many different kinds of internships, just as there are many different methods of finding information about them. If you are interested in an internship, it is a good idea to start your search early.
1. Internships Based on Agreements with University Faculties
These internships are based on existing agreements between internship sites and individual Kumamoto University faculties and schools.
Administrative procedures vary depending upon the faculty or school. Please contact the relevant office or coordinating faculty member for information.
2. Internships Advertised Independently by Companies and Organizations
Information on a wide range of internships can be found on corporate and governmental agency websites, as well as on recruiting websites (Rikunabi, Mynavi, etc.) during their "pre-opening" season every June. Individual university faculties, schools and programs may also receive internship information directly through the mail.
Internship information mailed to the Career Support Center is also kept on file for students to view. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this resource.
In cases where procedures at the university (e.g., signing of an agreement or memorandum) are required in order to apply, please consult with the relevant university faculty or school office.
3. Consortium of Universities in Kumamoto Internships (Third-year Undergraduate Students)
The Consortium of Universities in Kumamoto (General Incorporated Association) organizes internships with the help of prefectural companies and organizations in order to raise employment awareness among students in the prefecture.
Information sessions are held on campus every year in mid-June. The information session schedule will be posted on KUMA★NAVI.
Reflections on the Consortium of Universities in Kumamoto internship program by former participants are also available on the Career Support website (on-campus access only).
