Credits

Regular students in the Undergraduate School [U] and special auditors in Undergraduate School [SU] [SU-J] can obtain credits upon passing the final examination for each class. (Other students [G][SG][N][R] and researchers [O] cannot obtain credits.

Regular students in the Undergraduate School [U]

  • Japanese A-1, Japanese A-2, Japanese B-1, Japanese B-2, Japanese C-1, Japanese C-2, Japanese D-1 and Japanese D-2 are compulsory, and credits from these classes are required for graduation.
  • Japanese IV-1 and Japanese IV-2 are elective foreign language subjects and credits from these classes are treated as elective subjects that are required for graduation.
  • Regular students in the Undergraduate School will not be able to earn credits from Japanese classes not listed here, even if the students attend them.
 

※1 The registration process may vary among faculties or departments. Please follow the process of registration required by each faculty.
※2 Those who have passed the JLPT Level 1 or N1 with a high score do not need to take Japanese classes.

Special Auditors in Undergraduate School (Short-Term Exchange Program) [SU]

  • Students can obtain credits of all Japanese Language classes upon passing the final examination for each class, and credits from these classes are required for the completion of each program.
  • Please read the "Kumamoto University Short-Term Exchange Program Syllabus (『熊本大学短期留学コース授業計画書』) " distributed at the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies.

  • Students can obtain credits of all Japanese Language classes upon passing the final examination for each class, and credits from these classes are required for the completion of each program.
